The foodXPTools project, funded by the Food Systems, Microbiomes, and Health research program (PEPR SAMS), is organizing a research school focused on experimental setups for studying eating behaviors. This training program, funded with support from PEPR SAMS and INRAE, will take place from November 30 to December 3, 2026.
This workshop will provide the keys to mastering methods, ensuring data quality and management, and integrating technological advancements in the field. It will encourage a multidisciplinary approach and support participants through all stages of a project, from ethical and legal considerations to experimental design.
This research school aims to enable participants to:
- Understand the theoretical foundations of eating behaviors and their determinants through a multidisciplinary approach
- Be able to identify, select, and utilize the measurement tools and methods best suited to research objectives
- Grasp the diversity of measurement contexts and environments and understand the methodological challenges involved
- Be aware of the concepts of robustness, reliability, sensitivity, and validity of measurements and data collection methods
- Apply the FAIR principles to the collection and integration of multidisciplinary data
- Master the ethical, legal, and regulatory frameworks applicable to research involving human subjects
- Develop a critical perspective on the quality and limitations of data, as well as on the methodological relevance of the tools, indicators, and databases used
- Gain a grasp of the issues surrounding Open Science and become familiar with best practices for sharing, documenting, and leveraging research data
- Acquire an integrated understanding of the principles of research protocol design (sampling, design, variables, qualitative and quantitative approaches)
- Strengthen skills in setting up and coordinating collaborative research projects, particularly at the European level
