Presentation
The GNOTAmina focus project, supported by the PEPR SAMS program, was launched on October 11, 2024. On this occasion, the project coordinators, Agnès Le Bon and Bruno Lucas, presented the project, its objectives and its structure.
GNOTAmina aims to structure platforms capable of creating, breeding and maintaining axenic or gnotobiotic animal models to enhance the study of the microbiome-host dialogue. Bringing together the various players involved in this precision project, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the many areas of work involved:
- Building a network of equipment and expertise capable of hosting and analyzing gnotobiotic and axenic transgenic animals;
- Providing scientists with expertise in establishing the most appropriate experimental strategies and methods for their projects;
- Offering a continuum of services, from axenization to biological characterization of gnotobiotic animals, in state-of-the-art facilities;
- Developing and offering training courses for personnel working on germ-free or gnotobiotic animals;
- Creating a catalog dedicated to gnotobiotic and axenic animal models available within the structures.
