Presentation

On March 21, 2024, the PLAT4TERFOOD project published an article titled “Towards a transition in farming systems in mainland France? A geography of contrasts and change (2010 and 2020)” in the journal Cybergeo: European Journal of Geography.

The PLAT4TERFOOD project aims to establish a platform that brings together existing quantitative data on territorialized food systems, as well as the methods and tools identified or developed within the project, to better characterize these systems and assess their long-term impacts.

This study presents a geography of farms in transition in metropolitan France and offers a detailed mapping of the evolutionary trajectories of agriculture in transition over the 2010–2020 period, paving the way for discussion on the factors favoring the emergence of certain types of transition over others.
