On October 11, 2025, the CARI focus project published an article entitled “Development, Reproducibility, and Validity of a Semiquantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire for Use among the Adult Population in Reunion Island” in the journal Current Developments in Nutrition.
The CARI project is an observatory that aims to produce monitoring data on dietary behaviors in Reunion Island, their sustainability, and their individual and environmental determinants.
This publication is the result of work carried out on one of CARI’s major areas of focus: the validation of a food frequency questionnaire developed specifically for the Reunion Island context. The study describes the analyses used to evaluate the reproducibility and validity of the questionnaire. Following these analyses, a final version of the questionnaire was produced. It will enable CARI and other studies (including the COHORTES-MICROBIOMES projects, notably the French Gut cohort, and MASCAREIGNE) to obtain robust data on dietary intake in Reunion Island.
